Going Beyond Alcohol Detection
The Arrive Alive Passive Interlock Solution is well suited to monitor for other types of impairment that may be experienced by a driver. Since the core sensor array is integrated into the steering wheel, consistent contact with the driver makes the technology suitable for expansion to the detection of impairment by other substances, medical conditions like a diabetic reaction, or drivers fatigue. In some configurations, the focus of such detection could simply be to alert the driver of impending danger, allowing him or her to get off the road, and possibly seek help.
